Former hospitality workers will have access to free refresher courses for Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling under a New South Wales government initiative to address the worker shortage.
During his visit to Albury to make the announcement, Hospitality and Racing Minister Kevin Anderson said the industry needed more people to continue providing a service, particularly people with prior experience.
"It's about reconnecting workers with the hospitality industry who have left and gone on to other parts of the workforce," he said.
"It is about making sure that they know how to run a bar, know how to serve, know how to run tills, know how to run kitchens and front of bars as well as gaming rooms."
