Australia has beaten England by five wickets in the final T20 International with three balls to spare at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, regaining the world number one ranking for the shortest form of the game.

Aaron Finch's team still had plenty to play for in Southampton, despite number two-ranked England entering the clash with an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

ABC foreign correspondent Bill Birtles and Michael Smith from the Australian Financial Review were evacuated from Beijing and Shanghai respectively earlier this week after they were sought for questioning regarding an investigation against detained Australian-Chinese journalist Cheng Lei.
